The Grand Prize is $5,000 and the winning and top-ten finalist screenplays will be considered for development by dozens of leading production companies; the writers will be considered for representation by the top talent agencies. The King of California, an AZ contest top-ten finalist, now on DVD The script was discovered in AZ's 2004 Screenplay Contest; it was subsequently optioned and developed by Michael London Productions, one of the dozens of production companies that receive the top scripts for consideration. The screenwriter, Mike Cahill, directed the film, which stars Michael Douglas and Evan Rachel Wood.
